The VTC-1911-IPK Vehicle Telematics PC and IoT Gateway features as MIL-STD and IP67 certified casing which is protected against dust and fluids. The most important connector for a system like this, the CAN 2.0B port, with an optional OBDII (SAE J1939/J1708) feature, is already installed. To be able to send and receive data without relying on WiFi access the gateway features two SIM slots, for localization a U-blox NEO-M8N module has been fitted. This module supports localization via GPS, Glonass, QZSS, Galileo and BeiDou.

The system is based on the Intel® Atom E3815 processor with 1.46 GHz and a single core. The memory capacity is 2GB in the base model, the maximum amount of DDR3L SO-DIMM memory for this device is 8GB. When it comes to mass storage for user data and the operating system there are three options in total: mSATA, SATA DOM or 2,5” SATA. Two waterproof 15-pin D-SUB connectors, one male, one female, offer many different connections. The male connector can be used for RS485, USB 2.0, Mic-In, Line-Out and VIOB-CAN-05/06 and two video outputs. The female connector is fitted with 2x RS232, CAN 2.0B with isolation and three digital I/O. If more connection options are needed these can be extended using a Full-Size mini PCIe card for USB, a second card can be installed with mSATA, USB and PCIe. If a WiFi card is used, the two antenna holes can be used, three more are situated at the back.
Apart from antenna holes, there are more connection options located at the back: M12 power connector, M12 gigabit ethernet, 15-pin D-SUB for VGA and waterproof HDMI port (optional). The device can be operated with ambient temperatures between -40° and +70 °C and it supports Windows 7, 8 and 10. Linux support available on request.
